Development log: where Librarian stands in October

Sixteen features, an AI that can set up your server, three plans, and a public launch at librarian.page.

Librarian is live at librarian.page. Here is what is in it today, in one place.

What you can switch on

Sixteen features, each with its own switch and settings in the dashboard:

  • AI assistant: answers your members from your own rules, FAQ and documents, and says when it isn't sure
  • AI actions (Pro, beta): describe a setup, approve the plan, undo with one click
  • Tickets, moderation, welcome cards, leveling and coins, role menus, suggestions, embeds and changelogs, server info
  • Stream alerts for YouTube and TikTok
  • Giveaways, starboard, scheduled posts and invite tracking (Basic and Pro)
  • Your own bot name and picture in your server (Pro)

What changed this month

  • AI actions shipped. /request reads what you asked, shows a plan, and only acts when you approve. It can read forum posts and recent messages to summarize them.
  • Three plans: Free, Basic and Pro. The AI is on in all three. Free gets 70 answers a week.
  • A guided setup in the dashboard: name your community, greet new members, open a help desk, teach the AI.
  • Dark mode, a support server at librarian.page/discord, and updated terms and privacy pages.
  • Librarian is listed on discordbotlist.com, and the top.gg listing is in review.

Under the hood

Each server gets its own database, and every database is backed up each week to storage with a different provider. More than 120 automated tests run before each change goes out.

Next: more testers, more use cases, and whatever the people using it ask for most. Ideas are welcome in our support server.
