Development log: rebuilt for every server

In September the bot that ran one community was rebuilt from scratch so any server can add it.

On 18 September 2026 we started Librarian as a new project. The bot behind it had run one community for nearly two years, but it was built for that one server: its name, its Minecraft wording and its channel IDs were written into the code.

What September built

  • One bot for many servers. Each server gets its own settings and its own database, kept apart from every other server.
  • Every feature became a module with its own switch, so a server only runs what it uses.
  • A web dashboard: sign in with Discord, pick a server, switch features on. No config files.
  • Billing, so the service can pay for its own AI and hosting.
  • Tickets were rebuilt, and the AI actions feature got its safety rules: it asks before it changes anything, and its changes can be undone.

What carried over

The parts that worked for two years came across in behaviour: the ticket flow, moderation that escalates instead of banning on the first strike, giveaways with claim checks, and the search that makes the AI answer from your own docs.

Next up is the public launch.
