AI Automations: auto messages, auto roles and more

Automate your Discord server: scheduled messages, auto roles, auto replies and AI answers. Describe it in your own words and the AI builds it.

Updated

AI Automations are rules that run on their own: when something happens, the bot does something. A post every Monday, a role at level 10, a greeting DM for new members, an answer whenever someone asks about payments. Every plan has them, and Basic and Pro unlock every trigger and the AI steps.

When

Every Monday at 9:00

If

Always

Then

  1. Post in #announcements, pinging @Events

Works on every plan.

Demo

Press Run to see it happen.

Try it: Pick an example, or describe one in your own words, then press Run it.

How an automation works

Each one is When → If → Then: one trigger, any number of conditions (all must be true), and up to 5 actions in order. Pick the parts in the editor, or press ✨ Create with AI and describe it in plain words. The AI drafts it, and you check and save it. Nothing is saved until you do.

  1. Open AI Automations in the dashboard and switch it on.
  2. Set your timezone once, at the top. Every time is in it.
  3. Press New automation, or Create with AI.
  4. Pick When, add any If conditions, and add the Then actions.
  5. Press Run now to try it, then save it.

When: triggers

If: conditions

It happens in (or not in) certain channels. The member has or lacks a role, is or isn't boosting, isn't a bot. Their account or membership is newer than a set time. Their level is at least N. The message contains or starts with words, has a file or a link, pings a role, or isn't a reply. The reaction is a certain emoji. It's between certain times or on certain days. It hasn't run in the last while, it's the first time for this member, or a random chance. All of these are on every plan.

On Basic and Pro there's also an AI check: the AI answers yes or no about the message, such as "is this about payments?". It uses one answer per message it checks, and runs last, only when everything else passed.

Then: actions

ActionPlan
Post a message or embed, reply, answer privately, reactEvery plan
Give or take a role, give or take XP or coinsEvery plan
Send the member a DMBasic and Pro
Start a thread or forum post, edit a message Librarian sent, wait and carry onBasic and Pro
Lock or unlock a channel, change a channel's name, topic or slowmodeBasic and Pro
✨ AI: write a message, summarize channels, answer the message from your knowledgeBasic and Pro

Messages can use placeholders such as {{member}}, {{member_name}}, {{channel}}, {{level}} and {{role}}, filled in from what happened.

Plans and limits

Free runs 3 automations with the every-plan parts above, Basic runs 20 and Pro runs 50, with every part. An automation that uses a Basic part on Free is marked "Waiting: needs Basic": it keeps its settings and starts running when the server upgrades. Paused automations don't count toward your number.

AI steps use your server's AI answers, and the editor shows the cost before you save. Everything else an automation does is free. Every run is listed under Recent runs, with Undo.

Questions

Can it send scheduled messages?

Yes. Pick "On a schedule": daily or weekly at a time, monthly, once on a date, or repeating. On Free, repeats are hourly or slower.

Can it give a role automatically?

Yes, for example when a member joins, reaches a level, or reacts to a message.

Can it send a welcome DM?

Yes, on Basic and Pro: When a member joins, Then send the member a DM.

Do automations cost AI answers?

Only their AI steps. Everything else is free.
